The Healthy Entrepreneur
As an Entrepreneur, you take care of everything to grow your business, but are you taking care of you?
It takes a lot of dedication, stamina, and energy to build a successful business. You have to be willing to work harder than everyone else — pushing yourself to your limits. All, while never giving up. There are downsides to living this lifestyle, and many entrepreneurs tend to forget to take care of ourselves in the process.
5 Tips to keep you healthy in your biz:
1. Make exercise a daily routine.
This one has always been a challenge for me, but it keeps my brain sharp and my stress low. Not to mention, it keeps me happy! Find the time, put it on your schedule, make it convenient and as stress-free as possible. Listening to your favorite music while you exercise adds pleasure to the process and relieves boredom.
2. Eat Healthy.
When I get off track of my health – my business, as well as my body, suffer. When I eat healthy, I optimize and perform at a higher level. Observe how you respond to certain foods. Proteins tend to sharpen your wits and energy but carbs are necessary ingredients but too many after lunch and your afternoons will drag. Maybe a good time to exercise if you’re not a morning person.
3. Unplug from your biz.
This summer was the first time in six years I was able to take a vacation with the kids. I truly unplugged from work – no emails, no phone calls, no catching up on work – just sun, fun, laughs, and some great quality time with the family. When it was time to get back to work, I was fueled, relaxed and the creative juices were flowing. Try to take a little “you” time each day, sometimes a few short breaks help us recharge.
4. Get on a good Routine.
Staying on track and holding yourself accountable is very attainable when you have a solid schedule that works. I am much more productive when I have a routine and my calendar scheduled out to stay on track. I’ve always found that having a routine each day helps me with productivity, organization, and a generally good mood. To maximize your results, prioritize your tasks to be sure you are focused on the most important tasks most of the time.
5. Manage Stress.
Let’s face it, we are entrepreneurs and stress is just part of the equation. I suffer from chronic adrenal fatigue, so managing my stress is even more critical. Achieving work/life balance is easiest when you have a definite plan to attain it and are not just trying to squeeze in personal time to hectic work life. Getting a good Coach and support team in friends and family always helps too.
Now that you have some great tips to get started, let’s make sure you have a good routine for your business, whether you are working part-time or full-time in your business, making the most of your time will keep your business in tip-top shape.
